Hillary Butler

Born and raised in Toronto, Hillary graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College in 2005.  She practiced in the Rosedale area for five years before moving to London, England for two years in 2010.

While practicing overseas, Hillary was able to travel throughout Europe and that travel bug has never gone away!  Prague, Istanbul, and Rome are among her favourite cities, and she never misses a chance to have adventures somewhere new.  Hillary still returns back to London frequently as it feels like her second home.

Initially, Hillary was interested in practicing wildlife medicine, even doing a course in California for seal and sea lion medicine.  However, her ties to Toronto kept calling, and with a lack of marine mammals in the area, she now has almost two decades of small animal experience under her belt.  She has much more interest in medical cases and their management, leaving the surgical to her talented colleagues.

Hillary is an avid cinephile and has been writing film reviews for over a decade.  She especially enjoys attending and writing about the Toronto International Film Festival and for the last two years has been also covering the Sundance Film Festival remotely.  She is a member of the Online Association of Female Film Critics.

Hillary lives in Toronto with her partner and her Havanese, Lola, who can often be found under the reception desk at the clinic living her best life!
